At first it </span>doesn't<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> seem like much of a big deal, but as the computer gets slower and slower, it gets to the point of being… annoying. Today I’m going to show you the absolute simplest way to give your computer the extra speed you need, so you can enjoy your browsing without all the waiting.</span></span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">First I’m going to tell you about RAM. RAM (Random Access Memory) is basically the “stuff that makes your computer go fast”, so obviously the more of it you have, the faster your computer will go. You can buy RAM, but there’s a way to get more RAM for free. You can do this by increasing your virtual RAM. This means is that you are taking some of the memory from your hard drive (the place where you save pictures, programs, etc.) and using it as RAM. Please note that if your hard drive is full, you might not have much memory to use as RAM, but you can use whatever memory you do have. Please follow the steps below to learn how to increase your virtual RAM:</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><b><i>1</i></b>. You want to get to the “PC Info/System” page. There are different ways to do this, depending on your operating system. If you are using Windows 7, Vista, or XP, skip to step 2. If you are using Windows 8 or above, skip to step 3.</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><b><i>2</i></b>. Click on the Start button. This is usually located in the bottom left corner of the screen. You will see a menu pop up above the start button. Click on the “Control Panel” button on the menu (See image below).</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><img alt="VirtualRAM1" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-74556" height="188" src="http://imgsrv.worldstart.net/images/ct-images/2015/03/VirtualRAM1.jpg" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" width="449" /></span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Now that you’re at the Control Panel, click on “System and Security” then click “System” on the next menu. (See image below)</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><img alt="virtualram2" class="alignnone size-large wp-image-74557" height="337" src="http://imgsrv.worldstart.net/images/ct-images/2015/03/virtualram2-450x337.jpg" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" width="450" /></span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><img alt="virtualram3" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-74558" height="341" src="http://imgsrv.worldstart.net/images/ct-images/2015/03/virtualram3.jpg" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" width="450" /></span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">After you’ve done that, skip to step 4.</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <br /></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><b><i>3</i></b>. You should now be at a screen that looks something like this:</span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><img alt="virtualram4" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-74559" height="337" src="http://imgsrv.worldstart.net/images/ct-images/2015/03/virtualram4.jpg" style="border: 0px; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" width="450" /></span></div> <div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify;"> <span style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Click on the link on the left side of the window labeled “Advanced System Settings”.
